peadofiles are sick sick people and those convicted of kidnap, child rape and other similar offences at the higher end of peadofilia should be locked away and never released, i feel that is the answer to the problem, i dont think making their names and addresses available to the public is a step forward for our society, i am not blind to the obvious benefits of this law however it would put these people at risk and that is not what britain is about, i am in no way defending peadofiles and i hope whoever reads this is intelligent enough to see that, what do you think, do we need sarahs law?

I can understand what you mean. The problem is that we need to respect all people's rights as human beings. BUT with rights come responsibilities and you need to analise whether peadofiles are taking responsibility for their lives and those lives they ruin. I work with sexually traumatised children (and adults) daily and the effect is just so horrible! Maybe it's not the answer to make their names public, but something drastic needs to be done! On the one hand it might be safer if their names are made public, because then people with children can be aware of the possible dangers. On the other hand, with that sort of suggestion, we're probably taking a few steps back into days luckily gone by. The other problem is that the prognosis for peadofilia is not good and it is very difficult to rehabilitate people who have this "addiction". So, I don't know? I don't feel comfortable with people like that freely roaming the streets, looking for young flesh. I would prefer if they were taken off the streets, away from kids, who are, at the end of the day, supposed to be the future. Sorry, that doesn't really give an answer, but I have very strong, yet mixed emotions about this topic!
