The artist Anton Pieck - he rather liked to call himself an artisan - was born April 19th 1895 in Den Helder, The Netherlands. His father was employed by the Royal Navy. At a very young age Anton and his twin brother Henri turned out to be very talented drawers. From 1901 until 1906 they had drawing lessons in Den Helder. After the family had moved to The Hague they continued these lessons, at first at The Academic Of Plastic Arts and then at the Drawing Institute Of The Hague. Later Anton Pieck became a teacher at the same institute. In 1920 Anton was appointed Drawing Master at the Kennemerlyceum in Bloemendaal, where he stayed until he reached his retiring age. In 1922 Anton married Jo Van Poelvoode and they had three children. They lived in Heemstede, Haarlem and Overeen so Pieck lived close to The Kennemerlyceum. This way he had plenty of time to make his drawings at home. During his life Anton Pieck has made many drawings, paintings and etches. The fairy like illustrations are generally known, also because trade and industry used them for many different items, something Pieck did not always appreciate. Besides all that Anton Pieck is the designer of the attractions in the great Dutch fairy tale park 'De Efterling'. There his dream world was brought to life. On November the 24th 1987 Anton Pieck died aged 92.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Anton Franciscus Pieck (Den Helder, Netherlands, April 19th 1895 - Overveen, Netherlands November 25th 1987) was a Dutch painter, artist and graphic artist. Anton Pieck was a drawing teacher from 1920 until 1960 in the Dutch city of Bloemendaal. The drawings he made had his very own style, often with a nostalgic and fairy-tale-like character; these show he had great imagination and an eye for detail. His illustrations became very popular. These characteristic drawings can still be found regularly on birth announcement cards and calendars. Anton Pieck is also the designer of the original fairy-tale park Efteling in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands, which has developed into one of the most important theme parks of the Netherlands, and which has much fame in the rest of Europe. In the 2004 election of De Grootste Nederlander (The Greatest Dutchman) he came in on the 81th place.

You probably have copies if they are prints. Some of the great artist don't sell their original print copies.
