You just explained why muslims and Jewish people do not eat pork. Christains can eat pork from what I understand we are only restricted from food sacrificed to idols.

The Christians are allowed by the >New Testament to eat crap food like the unclean p o r k . Eating pork was allowed so pagan converted Christians in the early church did not have to give up certain food in order to get more converts to their religion. They also abandoned circumsion in the early church becuase it would not attract more pagans to come to the christian religion. You can read all about it in Acts of the Apostles in New Testament.

pork (and lobster, and crayfish) are prohibited in the Old Testament, but Jesus sort of dismissed it in the New Testament. Not really sure why.

Jesus Christ never ate pork throughout his life. He lived the life of a jew and jews never ate pork. Pork started to come into the picture when Paul had a dream about it. Funny the other apostles never mentioned that pork was ok to eat. So the current practice of eating pork only started after Paul's vision.

Fastest way to save people from eating worms is for GOD to stop them, then there are fewer questions to answer. Once life got cleaner and medicine better, eating swine got safer. So people started question this. Eating anything not cooked correctly is usually bad for the stomach, sometimes it's fatal.

And yet, Scripture says to not let a man judge you according to the food you eat... according to a new moon, or a sabbath..... So, eat what you must.... God will not judge you because you have to eat what you have to eat so to survive in these days... Too many people trying to hold the law over your head while breaking others.... It is interesting to note that Islam and the Old Testament forbids pork. But Mrpotatohead mentioned that Jesus allowed pork to be consumed. Is it possible? Jesus says "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, I have not come to abolished them but to fulfill them (Matthew 5:17). So could Jesus really change the prohibition when he says otherwise. I feel Jesus's teaching was distorted to achieve what Invincible had suggested - to increase the number of followers. But is it right to change the teachings of Jesus just to accomodate the unbelievers and bring about wrong teachings ultimately. And finally until today, the truth is still blurry. Was this Jesus's intention or the intention of the disciples to have quantity and not quality.

The Bible is divided into Old and New Testaments, and is made up of Covenants (promises) made between God (Yahweh) and humankind. Some of the Covenants were eternal and widespread, affecting all cultures over all time. Other Covenants were more limited. Jesus' death on the cross, and resurrection from the dead fulfilled the terms of one such Covenant. This is how Jesus was sent to 'fulfill' the Law. The point of the Old Testament Law was to look forward to the promised Messiah (anointed one). Once the Messiah had arrived, the Law of Moses and that Covenant in particular was fulfilled. It's time had come and gone. The Old Testament commands believers to sacrifice animals at the Temple in Jerusalem for the forgiveness of sins, for example. That Temple has been destroyed, however, and more importantly, the One Sacrifice (Jesus) has already been made. Those who put their faith in the animal sacrifice were essentially trusting God (Yahweh) to provide a means to pay for the penalty of their sins, much as Abraham trusted God to provide some means to save Isaac. Their faith is converted into a righteousness that is given to them, that they could never earn themselves. It is impossible to please a holy God, since we are sinful. The only way for God to remain holy is to provide a sacrifice -- someone to pay the penalty that we're supposed to pay. That's why God (the Son) had to die. Only God Himself could pay that penalty for us all, and survive. Only God could be holy so that he could still be eligible to pay for someone else's sins, and not his own. But God had to become man, or else He could not die, and otherwise His sacrifice could not extend to mankind. Now that the perfect Sacrifice (Jesus) has appeared, should "good" followers of the One, True God continue to make the yearly sacrifices -- even if the Temple still existed? No. Those sacrifices were imperfect, and only a model of the Perfect Sacrifice to come. This is why the prohibition on pork no longer applies. It's part of the Old Covenant, that Jesus fulfilled. Jesus frequently was accused by other Jews of His day of not following the Old Testament Law, and in some ways He did not, in my interpretation of the Gospels. The same treatment was given to His followers, the initial Christians (i.e., Messianic Jews). This was essentially culture shock. Those in control wanted everything to stay exactly the same. That's what religious police do. Every new prophet, however, makes some sort of contribution that somehow challenges the status quo. As the promised Messiah, Jesus certainly did that. You have grown up as a good Muslim -- being told that pigs are dirty, scummy animals. Yet God made them, friend! Our Creator made pigs! Is God unclean? In the Old Testament days, eating pork and certain seafood was dangerous. Since before Jesus, however, it's been much safer. There was no general health concern in the time of Jesus that required God to put pork in a list of forbidden foods. Hence, when God gave the Apostle Peter his vision (and it was Peter, not Jesus or Paul; see Acts 10), it was not medically necessary for God to continue to prohibit the Christians from eating pork. It had been necessary in Moses' day. Hence the change. As a Christian, though, I should not (knowingly) eat pork in the presence of a Muslim or Jew, or a weak Christian who misunderstands the freedom he has in Christ. I should not flout my freedom. Also, I have the freedom to refrain from eating pork. There's nothing in the Bible that commands me to eat pork. It's up to me, and I'm supposed to obey the Holy Spirit (the 3rd person of the Christian Trinity) who guides me in making decisions. I know this is going to be hard to understand, but seek God and ask Him if it is the truth, and ask Him for dreams to confirm it, one way or the other. He is faithful, and uses dreams to show many Muslims the truth about Isa.

Pork was prohibited in all true religions. And satan always push the people to think about eating this in special. When Saint Paul devised the idea of original sin and saving by the sacrifice of Jesus to protect the supposed death of Jesus on the wooden cross. He found it necessary because bible told that the person who die while hanging on wood is cursed. So to prove Jesus piety Paul was compelled by the situation to add this idea. Quran made clear Jesus did not die or killed on cross so there is no question of biblical curse. When Paul added these ideas he banned the christian to follow the biblical laws as these will take away from Christ as per his idea.
