How can I become a certified Third Party Processor or Payment gateway?

Ok, I want to make online payment gateway or 3rd party processor but need more informations about this subject.First what equipment do i need(hardware,software), do i need to have physical internet connection to banks or card association? how exactly this kind of service is defined by Visa/Mastercard because i can't find any informations on their websites?And please leave links that could be help me, tnx.

I hate to tell you this, but if you are asking these questions, you cannot. Becoming part of the credit card processing industry requires major league contacts, insurance binders that have the zeros falling off the edge of the page, more security procedures than you can keep track of and a lot of bucks. Hardware is the least of your concerns. You cannot do this in your garage in you spare time after a shift at Taco Bell. Nice Try - Better luck next time
