How do i ask this guy to the sweetheart dance?

I want to ask him to sweetheart, but come to find out, one of my good friends is asking him! i was mortified when i said i was going to ask him, and she said she is going to ask! i want to tell him that i was going to ask him, but i don't want to make my friend upset. Any ideas as to what i can do? thanks! oh and the dance is in 20 days (i'm not sure if that information is helpful)

talk to her about it again and coordinate with her, if yall are really friends youll figure something out. girls are in control like it or not. remember you could always make him choose. good luck
